Dear Midnight Panther Families,
Although we are allowed to transition into phase B of the BC Cheerleading Association’s “Return to Sport”, we have decided NOT to loosen any of our current protocols at this time. We want to let our athletes and families get used to being back in school and having their “bubble” open up before we loosen any restrictions in our gym. We will reassess in a couple of weeks.
As a reminder, our current protocols include sanitizing daily and between classes, requiring all athletes to complete a daily health assessment when entering the gym, insisting that families self-monitor and keep any athletes home that have flu, cold, or COVID like symptoms. In addition, we still require all our athletes to wear masks when they are within 6′ of each other (which for now is when they are stunting) and require frequent hand washing and use of sanitizer.
NEW – In an effort to help our families navigate this new world and to have clarity around our procedures, we have developed a comprehensive COVID PROTOCOL document that outlines the steps to be taken for all our families. This document outlines what is required by any athlete that may have any symptoms, has tested positive, has been in contact with someone who has tested positive, and/or has someone in their household that has traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days. Please have a look at this document.
It is important to note that health information is PRIVATE. Therefore, we are not allowed to share anyone’s health information with anyone else. If anyone in the gym does test positive or is asked to self-isolate by the BC Health Authority, the BC Health Authority contact tracers will be in touch with anyone from our gym that they deem necessary to contact. Please know that we will follow all guidelines and directives as given to us by them. The safety and health of our staff and athletes is always our highest priority.
